Mrs. Dubose's Haiku
I lie in my bed
 The curtains blow so gently
 In the raging storm

 A boy and girl come
 Somewhere, an alarm clock rings
 The boy and girl leave

 My hand reaches out
I pull it back, and lie down
 Onto the pillow

 I remember when
 He destroyed all my flowers
 And broke her baton

 His anger comes near
I reach out once more, but then
 Take my hand away
