Parallel

Two lines that never touch
Glide gently through space
Masking each other
Yet on paths of their own.

They both have a purpose
A goal they must attain
And though they both go straight
They never meet.

Their lines never brush
The other’s smooth course
Seemingly independent
Do they rely on each other?

If two lines are parallel
They repeat the other’s course
On a different track
Destined to mirror, but never touch.

If a line strays
From it’s straight, exact point
Making its own curve or twist
Does the other follow?

For because they’re set
To never physically meet
One’s actions
Can’t affect just one path.

I have to admitt I was actually inspired in my math class to write this; math and literary infusion!

Haha, nice fuse of math and poetry. I like how it fits together. Nice job
