How I wish I could hold you back in my arms;

How I wish I could resuscitate,

the love you once held for me,

the love I forgot in a simple heartbeat.

I'll be waiting for you my Mujnu;

though, I know there's no more hope for me and you.

It is with you I wish I could press my lips,

but without me you've reached eternal bliss.

I can only thank God for her;

The girl who lovingly poured her soul into you.

She brought that ridiculous smirk back on your face.

She sewed up your wounds with love's healing lace.

Don't you look back at me and don't you fret.

I'll make it alright in the end.

And I promise not to hurt anyone again.

And when a boy wanders with me through dark, city streets

and finds foolish reasons to be with me;

When he escorts me home every single night,

holds my hand, and begs for a single dance under the moonlight;

I won't play the role of an oblivious fool.

I won't leave him at the airport like I did to you.

I'll whisper in his ear just like you wanted.

And our love will hold tight, if God grants it.

This future looks optimistically great...Yet,

How I wish I could hold you back in my arms;

How I wish I could resuscitate,

the love you once held for me,

the love I forgot in a simple heartbeat.
