"Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead." ~Louisa May Alcott

Skies of violet,
Oceans of gray.
Faces of porcelaine
And faces of clay.
There's no room for daisies
In a lily boquet.
And when the florist comes,
I'll look away,
Because I will be pruned,
And the otehrs will stay.
Skies of violet,
Oceans of gray.
Perhaps I'll be beautiful
Another day.

The author's comments:
This poem was inspired by the Holocaust, and all the children it claimed. It's a reminder that life is too short to discriminate based on trivial things such as religion or race. I hope you enjoyed this piece.
