And then
They all tell you that
It's for
Your own good,
And when you
Ask
“Why”
There's no reply
Except
That
Child-dreaded
“Because.”
You can ask
And ask
But
Resolute adults
Always chide
With a stinging
“Because.”
I think all kids get that answer. I really relate. If in general you think your parents make good decisions, sometimes you just have to trust them that the "because" is for a good reason - that for some reason you aren't ready to know.
