In The Grass
Some “yelp” when they see me,
Many “aw” in delight,
Watching me scatter this way and that way
In the grass collecting things for spring,
Going back and forth
I make my home
Deep in grass
Nice and cozy just for me
As I doge unwanted predators
Scattering back and forth
Faster and faster
I disappear out of sight
I am in the grass, at my home
A safe and cozy place just for me
