“Quiet Ever Since”
It’s the intensely loud gaze of
hers that says you’re gone. The
banging of drops that barrel—
that barrel down her
cheek. The booming flash flood
of her emotions. The depth
of her deep squawk. The
ravenous spring breeze is
louder now than before. The
trees scream as each leaf
is brusquely ravaged away.
However, the quiet lingers
in my mind. The gazes,
tears, and trees are loud
within my thoughts—not you.
Your memory is airy and
threatens to fade a..w..a…
once I laid down the flowers
singing joyously in the warmth
striking down, it has been
the same…

and quiet ever since

Constructive criticism would be awesome.
