“...when you're a woman livin' in a man's world, you learn real fast that fair's got nothin' to do with it. You learn you gotta be twice as good as a man just to be considered equal. You learn never to make a mistake. Never to lose your temper. Never to let down your guard. Cause somehow that one moment of just bein' human is gonna be used against you as a woman.” – Annie Oakley

Don’t Miss

Papa’s heart stopped
And mine nearly dropped
Starting practice when I was only nine
This should make a supper fine
If I don’t miss

I went to Cincinnati
Doin’ it for my family
Competing against Frank Butler
To prove I’m not a bungler
I better not miss

Mr. Butler was who I married
And my carrier continued to carry
Entering Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show
I remind myself even though I know
‘Don’t miss.’

Awarded as the best
Medals cover my chest
The train wreck caused my spinal injuries
In advance I send my apologizes
If this one I miss

I’m still settin’, breakin’ and even makin’
New records
I entertained Lady’s and Lord’s
It brings me great bliss
Therefore I’m not gonna miss

I’m sixty-six years old already
And things are seaming a little unsteady
Pernicious Anemia is what kills me
Heaven’s voice whispers to me
‘Don’t miss.’

Annie Oakley was a shap-shooter becuase if she did not hit what si was that she was aiming at her family did not eat. It was a matter of survival not chance. she had to make it. she coudl hit the thin edge of a playing card from so many yard away!

Annie was not harmed in the train accident. She was injured in a car accident several years later with Frank. She broke her right hip and ankle. Its perfectly written anyway. Nice job!
