Tune Into My Voice

When will you take the time,
To stop and listen?
To hear my cry,
For your attention.
Perceive with your ear, oh father.
To the words that come from my lips.
How can you not hear me?
Can’t you understand what I am saying?
One day I won’t be here
Gone from you
Away from the hushed silence of love.
Tune into my voice, father.
For I am here,
Right in front of you.
Don’t you hear me?

yeah, no, see that's my point. I haven't cried about it in a while and i guess it's about time so thanks. And, yes, i am a total dork and i have a lot of fun being one :D

It's ok, I've kind of come to terms with it, it's just sometimes I have to cry just to get it out. But yeah, I'm glad I made your day, you deserve it for being such a good poet! wow, that sounded lame... lol<3

Wow. this made me cry. My father has never really been the best at being there and I only see him once every six years. The last time I remember visiting him was Christmas and he was drunk and stoned. This poem is the epitomy of what I feel every sinble day. <3
