"This, too, will pass."

She watches all the birds go by,
Never really following their flight.
Ignorance,
Child,
Ignorance is all it is…

She thinks,
Perhaps,
The love of my life shall come
And watch
Birds

With

Me.

Probably, maybe,
Perhaps,
But most likely not.

She admires all the birds in flight,
But never notices much,
Never gets much
Out of what she
Sees.
Alone again,
She thinks,
Alone again.

Where is the love you promised me?!
She screams out at the birds,
Who fly away from her,
Frightened.

Where?!

She licks her lips and
Remembers his,
Oh, the pain…
The sting
Of little beaks
Jabbing at her heart.

Looking out at nothing,
Everything,
She breathes.
Wishes she could stop.

There is a cliff at the edge of these woods,
She thinks.
She thinks.
She thinks.
Ignorance,
Child,
Ignorance is all it is.

Perhaps, maybe,
I could probably take the
Birds

With

Me.

No.

Where is the love you promised me?!
Where are the remnants of your affection?!
Am I a memory…?

She watches the birds,
Birdwatcher,
Birdwatcher,
All alone
Again.

There is nothing she wants more
Than to die.
To stop watching.
To stop waiting.
To stop wanting.
Longing.

WHERE IS IT?!

No…
Let him go,
Like the wind through my feathers,
Ignorance
Is all it is.

I’m exhausted,
Leave me alone.

Leave me alone to watch the
Birds

And

Die.
