Trivial trinket of trust

We value you so

Carrying you in our pockets, to and fro

We dangle you from chains, show how much we gain

Yet all you are is a knickknack

And usually a fake one at that

All you are is a show

The allure of you flies around our heads like a little gnat

People sell the trinkets, claim how true they are

People lie about everything including the truth cases, and their lies take them very far

Trivial trinket of  trust

Why do we value you so

Trivial trinket of trust

We may never know

This is a poem I wrote, for me personally, it has a fairly clear meaning but it is definitely up for interpretation. It was inspired by a haiku I wrote and this is the poem.

Enjoy :)
