The Wristwatch
It stays positioned on my wrist
The two hand moving methodically
Always moving, never stopping
As time passes by
The hands move forward, never backward
The leather strap is old and worn
The gold is faded, chipped and scratched
The dial is broken and hard to turn
Time holds our world together
It keeps our days in balance
Without it we are lost
And life is without order
Our days are run by our watches
They stay positioned on our wrists
The two hands moving methodically
As time passes by
