A Warm Summer Common Cold
Reverberating adoration,
 pumps often about his head.
 He profusely ponders,
 all the pleasant statements spread.
 Happiness is just
 green apples on the stairs.
 Refreshing, sour-
 cutting thin the summer air.
 Sometimes they’d plan
 pretty picnics together.
 Never caring, Never
 checking for the better weather.

 Reverberating adoration,
 pumps often about his head.
 He recalls the childhood friendships,
 that crumbled as the bread.
 Soon, even, these friendships
  will end.
As did the sofa cushion wars,
So, will late hour coffee conversations
 wax thin.

 Pleasant words and pretty faces,
 and his bubbling friends;
 And the incessant reverberating adoration,
will all, someday, come to an end.
