James 4:13-15 MAG
I had almost popped the last piece into place,
The rounded cardboard nub fit perfectly into its counterpart
Or so I thought
I had almost popped the last piece into place
When You overturned the table.
Not like a violent giant
Or a mischievous five-year-old;
Nothing on which I could unleash my frustration
How can You call that LOVE?
I wanted to design my own picture.
I squeezed the deep purple in there
- the one You said didn’t fit
and the shimmering gold one ...
perhaps I should have listened ...
I should have listened.
I trimmed and bent their edges so I could have them
fit them into my picture,
I convinced myself they fit
Now You’ve overturned the table
and scattered my life across the room
I should have listened.
