Touching the Sky MAG
“Daddy, push me higher,”
I screamed on the swing that he made just for me
On a cool fall day
Just cool enough to wear a jacket.
And our dog was jumping in the leaves
As they were falling with such grace.
It was just the perfect day to be outside.
My brother was raking the leaves.
My mom was washing the dishes.
And my daddy was pushing me toward the sky
High enough to touch it
And every time I would come down, I would pull a leaf down
To make my brother work harder.
That was just the perfect day of my life.
