The weather man
crushes my day by saying
"And rain is in your forecast!"
I hear thunder in the distance
Then everything goes black
Lightning flashes across the sky
My room becomes light again
but only for a mere second.
I jump under my quilt
Shivering
Suddenly, its silent.
I lay low
Waiting for the storm
To end.
