Village Glow (August 18th) MAG
Sun-dried summer blades of yellow and imperfect green shades
A powerline draped across the dying lawn
A sunken ship off at the edge of the broken driveway and drying hedge
And a lamppost in the distance flickers vengeance and spite
I walk calmly in the humidity of the night and hold my breath to secure this moment
I wonder when I'll come back to this island, there's sunlight in my eyes
The times of life and vivid colors that came with the merciless tide
A horizon of tender colors that blend and burn with sincerity
The charred and surging red and white, pink and pale purple hues
My mental picture without a frame, the rest is up to you
