the giver

you hurt yourself
to help others
you pull others up
even when your down
you’re a giver
even when you have nothing to give
you would sell your soul
end up in a hole
for a person you don’t even know
you do this for a reason
but not one that you would expect
you do it for you
to keep yourself sane
to make you believe
you life isn’t in vain
but eventually
you’ll have nothing to give
no reason to live
and you’ll end up like me
