A Dead Night
The Moon shines upon the dark water
Reflecting the weariness of the world
Boats, Shadowed by the night, sails drawn in
Slowly bobbing in the cold water.
Three wisps of clouds in the cold night
Slowly drifting through the dark
The beach, shallow and still
The sound of the waves rocking
The shadow on the horizon
Hiding the far-away from sight.
The dead night
Still and lifeless
