Trapped

where do these walls of isolation end?

why is this dull brown fading my energy?

my tweets of cry are absorbed into the soft paper

i am trapped

i glance over my shoulder to see a lone feather

already the bright sapphire fades into slate gray

i lean against the cold, dry, wall and sigh

i am trapped

my feet collapsing underneath me

my body feeling heavier as if gravity is pushing me down

like a wilted flower, life drains away

i am trapped
