The sun sets, stars shimmering,

so peaceful, what a clear night sky.

Incredible, the whole town settles,

I stare up, what else is out there.

I stepped back, peering at the painted stars–

what a masterpiece.

This poem is a Sijo, a Korean form of poetry that was 14-16 syllables per line and 44-46 syllables total. I wrote this poem based off of the piece of art called "Starry Night" by Vincent Van Gogh. One of my favorite pieces of art.
