Teenager
You’re living life with the potential of an alligator
 in urban new York.
 You could be a legend.

Like a big man in a big book or

A big bad kid with 15 minutes of fame
etched into our minds with the horrors of Modern Culture
Columbine, Virginia Tech, the streets of Philly

You hurt the ones you love the most.
You hurt the ones you love the most.

It’s not your fault big bad kid.

 It’s Modern Culture.
It’s not your fault big bad kid.

 But it is.
You’re not the only one living in Modern Culture.
If Modern Culture jumped off of a bridge, would you?

You hurt the ones you love the most.

You blame society for letting you slip of the tracks.
But, the truth and love and good has always been there.
But, you get angry and upset and try to conquer the world

By putting yourself on a pedestal

And hiding behind sheets of make-up

 And layers of expensive clothing

 And ignorance.
 Don’t run away.
You only realize how much you love something when it’s gone.

You hurt the ones you love the most.

Start living life with the potential of a goose
 in a public park.
Bring some joy to the children’s faces.
Take hold of the white bread and cookie crumbs as they are thrown to you.
Visit the tropics every so often.
The truth and love and good has always been there.
