I'm Floating
It's like I’m floating
in your deep blue abyss
I am enveloped as if,
I were one with you
I float through your glass halls
the tenants of your enclosures,
float along my side
Yet your translucent dividers
hold us apart
How will I ever leave
if all I wish is to
Flow with you
I am surrounded by your aquarium hum.
I am surrounded by your swishing.
Your waves,
painting the translucent enclosure.
This piece is based on the aquarium. One of my biggest wonders has always been anything that has to do with water, especially if it is anything like the open ocean. Though I have always been very afraid of the water I wrote this piece to reflect the peace and serenity I feel when I am at an aquarium. There is meaning behind the aquarium though. I intended to make this piece dedicated to how I feel with the people I love most. Their comfort surrounding me is one similar to that I feel when I am in an aquarium. I am especially proud of this piece because just reading it helps me feel serene even if I am not at an aquarium or with the people I appreciate.
