Nowhere to Go But Now
Feet rapping
 Against concrete
 Mine ahead,
 His behind
 A steady rhythm

 I pick up my pace
 Our hearts beat
 Faster
 In unison

 Engulfed in darkness
 We run.
 Away from the past
 Away from the future
 With nowhere to go
 But now

 I skid to a halt
 His feet stumble
 And we stand
 Stuck

 We are still free,
 But trapped
 By time

 The future is coming
 We can feel it

 The freedom
 Slowly
 Quietly
 Fading.
