The Toliet Paper Not Taken
The two brands of toilet paper in a shopping mall,
And sorry I could not purchase both samplers.
And be one customer, for as long as I stall
And looked at one’s cover, gleaningly advertising to all.
To where it got covered by the wrapper;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better condition,
Because it was soft and wanted wear;
Both shelves are the same when I compare,
Though, the other had been more mentioned
And both that morning equally lay
In stock none had been taken.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads to way,
If I said I would buy the other, I would be mistaken.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two brands of toilet paper in a mall, and I-
I took the one less bought by
And that has made all the difference.
