but it was too hard to bestrung out
all the time
I started to watch "Gone with theWind"
but it was too hard to be in love
and die for someoneelse
I started to listen to the Beach Boys
but it was too hard to behappy
and I can't surf
I started to study the causes of World War II
but it was too hard to be smart
and I'm a pacifist
I started to dye myhair blue
but it was too hard to be rebellious
and it triggers myallergies
I started to hug my mother
but it was too hard to feel herfrailty
and not think of my own
I started to mow the lawn
but it wastoo hard to fix the broken blade
and besides, girls aren't to do thosethings
I started to do my makeup
but it was too hard to be superficial
and I'm not skinny
I started to think I had a future
but it was too hardwhen no one else thought so
and after all, they know best.
