Lifelong Passion
Sometimes it is
All I can do
Not to go hide away,
And just think of you.
Yes, my love
It is you that I want.
Yes, my sweet,
My dreams you do haunt.
But, sadly for me,
You are quite unobtainable
The passion I hold for you
Is all but explainable.
Our couple would not
be able to meet.
The standards of society.
We would fall at it’s feet.
So this love,
That I hold so near to me,
Must be silenced,
Must become less dear to me.
I must forget these feelings,
Forget this ambition.
But life without you,
Is a sorrowful rendition.
I will try to fight it,
And try to be strong.
But if this love is real,
How can it be wrong?
I can live without this!
I can wash my hands of you.
But if it’s you we’re talking about,
Why the hell would I want to?
I will try to remember,
Or maybe forget.
You’re not mine, my love,
Well, at least not yet.
And in the dark and quiet,
Of my own lonely mind,
I will again think of you,
For love is always blind.
