A Loss of Words

How could I have let those words escape me
A poem just waiting to be told!
Words that sparked my imagination
Then fled
Like a deer from wolves.
Frivolous, fleeting, frustrating, words.
These ones might have been good.
But.
Oh well.
Back to bed.
Perhaps they will return.

Wow I really like this poem! I like how you compare how the words are leaving your mind with "like a deer from wolves". Write more like this! I like this poem!
