Burning
That’s all I feel
Vicious flames lick my veins
A fire coursing through my body
Singeing my limbs
As if I’m tied to a stake

Thrashing and writhing
The pain never stops

My breath coming in erratic gasps

A hollow thud
Then silence
Complete silence

No more burning
Everything is clear
Sharply defined
Beautiful
My eyes are strong
My body is strong
I am immortal
And I will never burn again
