Moving (Out And In) MAG

By Anonymous

This house is no longer a home,
It locks forever too many doors.
Thisheart, thinking of past mistakes,
Beats rapidly as a cagedbird's.
Hard-edged visions of uncaring lovers
Close in, filling the heavybags

Carried this far. "No more bags,"
A new voice utters."Just go home,
Go home to live with the lover
Who loves you. Shut allthe doors
You've passed, learn to fly with the birds,
And you can't make amistake."

"You're making the biggest mistake
Of yourlife," Mother says. But the bags
Are all packed. The wallpaperbirds
Sing their bittersweet song, but home
Is calling. Escaping through anopen door,
I am finally able to love my lover.

Smiling, laughing,holding my lover,
My best friend, knowing the only mistake
Would have beennot slamming the doors
Behind me. He helps carry my bags,
Spillingeverything into our new home.
The contents exit out of the window likebirds.

Taking flight. Knowing the mind of the bird
To be small, weinstead send our love.
We decide it for the best for our home
To be freeof the same old tired mistakes,
And devoid of all our heavy baggage.
Weleave incredibly lockable doors

Wide open. But in through the backdoor
Something sneaks, masked as a carefree bird.
Sorting through my brandnew bags,
I come across a picture of my new lover.
No matter what kind ofor how many mistakes
I will make or have made, I've come home.

I walkthrough the door, take my lover's hand.
"No mistakes in here," hesays, taking my bag.
A wild bird flies in and settles down, at home.
