A Passerby
Strong arms that held me,
Pulled me back and slowed my pace
 Smile that captured me,
Melted my decisions away and sparkled
Eyes that whispered, "I love you,"
Lied to my face and filled the void
The truth is but a passerby,
You cannot see what you have done,
Blown out the flame and disposed
 Of the candle, never returning
 Chairs rocking,
 Tick tocking,
 Going fast and
 Never stopping,
 Time is but a passerby,
It heals just as it wounds,
 Faces blur around me,
 Heavyness in my step,
Let's just leave each other alone,
 That's what you said
Fingers that traced my every outline,
Brushed against my skin to please
Lips that kissed with sweet mystery,
 Down my neck and beyond
 Hands that comforted my weakness,
Smoothed my hair and wiped my tears
 Love is but a passerby,
 Flaming waves of passion
 That die, dousted with forgiveness
 And the pain that comes
 As I heal without you.
