Why Must Heaven Hide?
What things so sweet from heaven
Should confine itself in a solitary desolation?
A deep cavern.
A minute vapor in the wind.
A flame in the ozone layer of eternity.
Places that cannot be reached,
Cannot be touched,
Cannot be seen.
Such splendorous greatness gives not
An iota of itself to presently fill the
Physicality of our being?
Should such colossal power
Coerce itself to hide from such a
Feeble ‘life’ force?
I would rather die in the presence
Of what I cannot withstand than
Die living in the modern age of
Hell and not to have seen a breathing
Form of Hope at all.
For living in what we call our planet seems
No more than living in the presence of
Some other great power which a
Mere mortal cannot withstand.
(Cannot understand)
Living in the illusion of Earth that
Is actually Hell.
But our hearts don’t seem offended,
For we’ve succumbed to what we
Know so well.
Because true greatness hides.
Hides when it could, instead, rain down
Upon us; rain down waters of life in
Golden streams to flood the fires of
Our consumption, and replenish the
Rotting corpses of which we have conformed.
That would be something worth living for.
But no…
Why must heaven hide?
