Memoirs of Yester-years
My heart pours out to you.
Love laid out for all to see.
Lungs crave your scent.
Body yearning your embrace.
Eyes sting from tears,
Falling caused by thoughts.
Dried by pictures of your face,
Seen behind closed eyes.
Thoughts turn to memories.
Memories turn to tears.
Tears turn to remembering.
Memories being just that.
Yesterday, yesteryears.
Hours fade into days.
Days roll into years.
And everything fades away.
Do her eyes glisten brighter?
Does her voice carry sweeter?
Shared the laughter?
Shared the moment?
Recollections grow weaker.
Happiness gone astray.
Loss of my sun.
Fainted behind clouds of gray.
Like flowers wilt away,
Why does love die?
Buried under pain,
Memoirs of love do lie.
