Escape MAG
Gooey gelatin fog engulfs
the humid heat of summer shadows
as we silently slither
into the murky abyss
pretend fear clinging to us
like our matching fuchsia swimsuits
swinging across the jungle vines
barely escaping the angry alligators
that snap at our feet
careful not to awaken the sizzling electric eels
that lie just below the surface
forever searching for buried treasure
that has to be here somewhere
nearly catching a glimpse
of the beautiful mermaid princess
and her magical undersea kingdom
made of a trillion golden seashells
and robbed oyster pearls
not wanting to shatter the delicate surface-glass
of grandpa's pond.
