My Little Bailadora MAG
My Little Bailadora
You dance with vigor and passion
On a stage no larger than a pin's head
Your hypnotic beat and radiance
Draw me in
The clicking of the castanets
The pounding of the tambourine
And the song of the guitar
Are all in my head
But you
Are real
You are a blaze of life
Surrounded by darkness
Adorned in white
I watch you whirl and twirl
Stomping the bolero,
The fandango
The wind begins to blow.
Faster and faster
You dance the flamenco
My heart races
With the quickening beat of your feet
Suddenly
You are lost
In a puff of smoke
The music
Slows
And an old violin cries
I find you
Swaying with the Skeleton
Rising up to the night
And then down to the earth
Your last dance:
The danse macabre.
