Untitled MAG
In a waterlogged photo album lives a woman.
a curtain of soft hair spills down her back
and shelters bird-like shoulders.
Her arms are thin,
fragile as china.
in them rests a child,
a small cherub
with flaxen hair and wide eyes.
The woman's eyes are wide as well,
bewildered and shining
at the tousle-haired baby curled in her lap
Bare ankles are crossed
beneath the iris petals of her skirt
yellow fades into purple fades into green
