My Town MAG
My Town
To all the others my small town,
Each street is the very same.
But over there is Old Lady Watkins,
We hailed her in God's name.
And there is Julia Walker's place,
She's been sick since early last week.
Way over there is where all the kids go,
They call it Pollkin's Peak.
Down the street upon the stair,
Marty Singer first kissed me.
Then two weeks later,
He was kissing Betty Louise.
Over in the church,
My sister took her vows,
And then there across the street,
Was where Sidney left his cow.
Then right there in the willow field,
I first met Johnny Kite.
I knew right from that moment,
That this was the love of my life.
So to all who travel through,
And think everything's the same.
I feel pity for you,
Since that's all you saw when you came.
