If I will write a letter
Never to be read
Say what would I in that letter?
Now I must use my head.
Would I speak
of The name of the man of my dreams?
No, said she. Too personal.
Would I share
My thoughts of infinity and beyond?
No, she said. Too complex.
Would I preach
The words of one silenced man’s soul?
No, said she.
Too sorrowful.
No, she said
If I will write a letter
Never to be read
I shall write of myself;
Of my life instead.
