The Rain MAG

By Anonymous

   Silence, like death, now hung thick in the sky,

The heavens grew pale and the sunlight dim.

And even the wind dared not rush by,

As the billowing clouds began to roll in.

Then the earth was shocked by a blast of cold.

The once placid stream soon churned with frenzy.

Sweeping gales caused many a tree to fold;

Dirt flew about in all the vast fury.

A tremendous sound, a dagger of light,

Striking downward to set blaze to the earth.

Powerful bolts that could light up the night,

Rumbling, rattling, shaking the turf.

Then the sky opened up above the plain

And the land was showered with gentle rain.
