Where
No one hears her scream in the middle of the night
No one can see the way she doesn’t even try to fight
The way she gives herself up to him
The way that she can never win
The way that she sobs when she’s all alone
After he’s gone and left her at home
The way he doesn’t care how she’s treated
She’s thrown around and always beaten
No one is there to hold her while she cries,
She’s only told she’ll be mistreated till she dies.
Sometimes she wishes that it would end,
That her day would never begin.
That somehow she could get away,
Into a better tomorrow, away from yesterday
Away from the world of hurt and pain
Where her name is not used in vain
Where she has friends and hands to hold
A cheek to kiss and a life to mold
