“Mwahahahahaha! Now you are mine, Lesley-Bird, finally, at last, in my... oh, drat, forgot it had wings...”

-Phil, the youngest Kalins Uzin

Sparkling white
A gorgeous sight
An overnight freeze
Ice in the trees

The ice storm silently froze the town
Iced the lakes, tree branches down
Created as fast as any old boomtown
Ice in the sunset looks like a crown

Glowing green light
Two hours after midnight
Drew my gaze
Power plant’s haze

The ice storm silently froze the town
Iced the lakes, tree branches down
Waiting impatiently for a meltdown
So the earth can again be green and brown

Thunder boom
Freezing doom
Snowstorm’s might
Nighttime fright

I wrote this for Oklahoma History about an ice storm that happened a year before.
