Favorite Quote:
“What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal.” -Albert Pine

It all loosened up,
The white little bow.
It happened, well it happens,
You and I both know.
I tried mending the strings,
That tangled into a knot.
But they continued to unravel,
It happened a lot.
I took them to the shoemaker,
Asking him to fix the lace
But he told me to come later…
And later never takes place

The author's comments:
My friend texted me saying that his shoes were untied. I pulled out my pen and wrote this down in a few minutes. This piece reflects the way I see my own life. Sometimes I feel as if I am always making the same mistakes over and over again. I try so hard to "mend the strings" but somehow my problems continue to unravel. The poem may fool people (as my life does) to be silly and easy going. But it also reflects the deep wounds that are within many of us. Sometimes people feel as if they cannot untangle the knots in their lives, and even the “Shoemaker [God],” cannot help them. I enjoyed writing it, and I hope that readers may find it enjoyable also.
