The Fire II
The Fire (II)
I remember drinking your herbs and your roots
I fell into such a haze
I predicted your teacups and bones, so covered in soot
I was nothing more than your pawn, your recruit
Your needed mannequin to utter your future days
I remember drinking your herbs and your roots
And there you were, disturbed by the truth
So scared by what a little girl says
I predicted your teacups and bones, so covered in soot.
You were clever then, oh so astute
To know in such a short time my ways
You made me forget drinking your herbs and your roots
And so I fell asleep at your foot
And stayed there ‘til wakened by the sun’s rays
Though I’d just predicted your teacups and bones, so covered in soot.
