- What Matters
The holidays are near,
But no one seems to have the cheer.
Everyone seems angry and stressed,
And don’t seem to realize how much we’re blessed.
What’s wrong with everyone?
It looks as if they’ve all lost their spirit.
All they seem to care about is the shopping,
And worry about the price limit.
Kids just care about getting lots of presents,
And making sure Santa gets their list on time.
They don’t seem to know the true meaning of Christmas,
And break their parents neck ‘til they spend their last dime.
It’s the time of giving, not receiving,
A time of being with your family and friends to share the birth of Christ,
And showing your love with one another;
So be nice to everyone,
Even to your little sister or your big brother.
Why can’t we be happy and enjoy this time of year?
We all need a dose of happiness and much more to believe in,
So ‘tis the season to be jolly,
And get some holiday cheer.
