Futility
Shredded paper meets the floor
My mind is at its last word
I cannot take this anymore
My soul is rotting at its core
Nothing makes sense of what I’ve heard
Shredded paper meets the floor
My pencil, it longs for once to soar
But it flies like a poor wingless bird
I cannot take this any more
The paper from which my fingers tore
Pieces so small, it should be absurd
And shredded paper meets the floor
Into the words, my eyes they bore
They will never make sense, I’ve concurred.
I cannot take this anymore
These will words will never be but a sore
My minds strives on, undeterred
But still, shredded paper meets the floor
I cannot take this anymore
