Doors
My house is full of open doors
All the world or me to see
This is the place my family
 Stole my heart from me

My house is full of half-open doors
Now that we’re alone and poor
My wings can’t open, fly, and soar
Like when I had met them long before

My house is full of closed doors
I must hold a candle lit
Dear hope, I write, piece and bit
I am lost in the deepened pit

My house is full of half-closed doors
 My family’s memories have come
Again, they unravel and become undone
But I am sure that we have won

My house is full of open doors
All the world for me to see
This is the place where my family
 Turned everything, everyone, into me
