My Last Goodbye
A laughing voice and smiling eyes
And a warm and toothy grin
Hides the hungry, savage beast
That surreptitiously hides within
Like an old forgotten volcano
A stony, deadly foe,
Not a soul upon the planet can
Predict when he will blow
He plants in all a seed of trust
And nurtures it to grow
But in a flash, unleashed is his wrath
And I am destroyed in a fiery inferno
Can I rise from the blackened ash
And reach once more to the sky
Or will the oppression suffocate me
Making this my last goodbye…
