Perfect
No one is truly untainted,
Unconditionally pure or true,
If one was then why be created?
When everything one already knew?
That dream you’re sure to reach,
Or those goals you will surpass,
Cause you’re perfect as beseeched,
Number one in your class
What keeps you turning?
Stepping forward through a haze,
Never growing nor learning,
All that could’ve been is now ablaze
You know what’s coming,
The achievements and successes,
At your command and summoning,
No more predicting or guessing
No more secrets, dreams or hopes,
Cause it’s all within reach,
Too easy, just climb the rope,
This ending is so cliche
I don’t want to be perfect;
I think that I’ll just be me
