Beyond the Surface
At a glance, you see distortion
Something wrong, what shouldn’t be
But that’s because you haven’t looked
Past only what your eyes can see
“Don’t judge a book by its cover”
A quote we’ve all often heard
But then why is it you’ve already labeled her
To something beyond absurd?
Even though the surface is what is different
That should never scare you away
Because the treasures of getting
to know someone new
Only come to those who stay
After all, it’s the inner beauty
That shines through all the rest
So take another look with your heart,
And put your eyes to the true test
