Light
I can't find the words
To tell you I can't leave
To pass for brave and confident
And leave you in your peace
My defense is in your heart,
I let you keep me safe
With nothing more than your company
And your love, your warm embrace
I find my perfection in the light
You shine from the stars
Your perch above the skyline,
Where the city lights wage wars
When the day comes around
And the heat replaces beauty,
I glow with your everything,
And express I love you truly.
As long as you're breathing
Whether near or terribly far
My solace is in your eyes:
The light that shakes the dark.
